Traffic statistics and privacy

This site measures traffic on its own server to produce a daily report for its owner. It adds no tracking cookie or third-party analytics script.

The network address and browser type are used transiently to estimate unique visitors over a 4 p.m. to 4 p.m. period, Quebec time. Only a protected fingerprint specific to that period is retained, for at most eight days. Raw IP addresses and browser strings are not stored by this collection. Page views are stored as aggregate counters.

Country, province or region and city are estimated locally using a GeoIP database. No visitor IP address is sent to the database provider. No precise personal location is collected. VPNs, shared networks and geolocation errors limit these estimates.

Known bots, technical requests and requests signalling DNT or Global Privacy Control are excluded. Aggregate reports are kept on the server for 90 days and emailed to the owner using Resend; they contain no visitor IP address or fingerprint. Email retention depends on the recipient’s mailbox.
